Many months ago, Jill and Ryan contacted us to line up a couple session for June 21st. We’re talking last November they emailed us, and the session had to be on June 21st.

It’s their anniversary, you see, and they’re doing photos every year on their big day.

We think that’s awesome, and good on these two for doing this. It’d be cool to see how their pictures evolve over their many years of marriage together.

This session was done in our favourite Vancouver neighbourhood for photography, East Vancouver.

Brian and Giovanni have a great relationship if only based on where they are from.

Brian is from Vancouver and Giovanni is from Mexico, so when it comes down to visiting hometowns, both have very appealing aspects.

They were married last January in Vancouver, and we recently did a session with the two of them around Main Street and the Olympic Village.

As you may have figured out (at least if you’ve met us), this is one half of the Nordica machine – Cole – and his gorgeous girlfriend Therese, photographed by the other half of Nordica.

Yeah, I know, right. How did he score her…

(Kidding, bud.)

I actually met Therese Рwho is now also our magnificent Nordica accountant Рa few years before Cole did. We did the same business program at Ume̴ University in Sweden, already back in 2003. Cole joined us a couple of years later and they pretty much hit it off right away.

This shoot was a long overdue couple session I promised to do already months ago. Wonder how long it’ll be until I’ll be taking pics of her in white and him in black…

(Kidding again, man. No pressure.)

Skärså is an old fishing harbour located near the town of Söderhamn in a central region in Sweden called Hälsingland.

Lars and Sara are from this small region, and they worked together at a fish restaurant  in SkärsÃ¥ (that’s where they met).

Lars has created a lot of buzz in his region for both his incredible mustache and fearless sweater – both of which were greatly appreciated for this couple session.

We’ll be doing another session – hopefully – in the same region during the Spring in May. Sans snow.

This winter has been one of the coldest in many, many years in the Nordic countries. And when the thermometer said -25°C last week, we decided to stay indoors for Linda and Jonas’ and their wee one Sigrid’s session. ‘Cause after all, all you really need is a white wall.

Couple photography in Queen Elizabeth Park will be something we will definitely do again in the future, ideally after a wedding. We had never been there, so we were extremely surprised at what we found when Rachel & Rafael contacted us for a couples session.

The Vancouver Convention Centre is where you can find a busload of tourists if you’re ever in the city. The Olympic Flame is there, and the shiny new Centre is right in the heart of downtown.

We had never done a session here, so we were aiming to make this look as non-touristy as possible, plus bring out a few of the characteristics of the building (such as the walls of grass).

Amy and Jerman contacted us and wanted to do a shoot on Granville Island. This is probably one of the most (over)used locations for engagement and wedding photos in Vancouver, so it’s tricky to be unique.

But we did our best.
