Juvet Landscape Hotel Wedding

Justyna and Jarrod chose Juvet Landscape Hotel in Valldal, Norway for their destination wedding, and it turned out to be one of the most extraordinary venues we have ever photographed. Juvet is a design hotel built into the mountainside above the Valldøla river, with individual glass-walled cabins that look directly into the forest and the gorge below. The architecture is minimal and deliberate, designed to frame the landscape rather than compete with it. For a wedding, the effect is immersive: guests are surrounded by nature from the moment they arrive, and the boundary between indoors and outdoors dissolves completely.

The Venue and Surroundings

Juvet sits in the Norddal valley near Trollstigen, one of Norway’s most famous mountain roads. The surrounding landscape is defined by steep valley walls, waterfalls, and dense birch forest. The hotel itself was featured in the film Ex Machina, and walking through the property it is easy to understand why. The combination of cutting-edge Scandinavian architecture and raw, untouched Norwegian wilderness creates an atmosphere that feels both modern and ancient at the same time. Justyna and Jarrod’s wedding made use of the outdoor spaces around the hotel, with the ceremony set against the backdrop of the valley and the river rushing below.

The evening reception took place inside the hotel’s communal spaces, where floor-to-ceiling glass brought the forest inside. As the light faded and the candles were lit, the reflections in the glass created an effect where the celebration and the landscape merged. It is the kind of venue that elevates every element of a wedding by existing.

The nearest airports are Ålesund and Molde, both approximately 90 minutes by car, and the drive through the fjord landscape is itself part of the journey. Full transparency. When Justyna and Jarrod inquired about their Juvet Landscape hotel wedding, we didn’t fully know what a gem Juvet really was.

We thought it probably would be cool, and of course it is near Trollstigen so the nature must be nice. But wow – did we underestimate how insane Juvet actually is.

Previous trips to Norway included places like Lofoten, which is a timeless destination. But the thing about Justyna and Jarrod’s wedding is it was a full-on destination wedding where everyone travelled to Norway, and nobody had really been there.

So just imagine. Friends and family from the States, Poland and other places all get dropped in an architectural wonder of a hotel. It was just crazy to see.

A highlight from the wedding was the nature, sure. In all honesty though, it is always the people who make a wedding great and the entire crew at this one brought their A-games. They laughed, they partied, they were in  the zone.
