Honest coverage of your day, wherever it takes you. ## Sitemaps [XML Sitemap](https://nordicaphotography.com/sitemap_index.xml): Includes all crawlable and indexable pages. ## Posts - [Sunrise at Passo Giau // Lilly & Vic](https://nordicaphotography.com/passo-giau-elopement-lilly-vic/): Lilly and Vic eloped at Passo Giau at sunrise, and it was one of the best mornings I have had in the Dolomites. Passo Giau is a high pass in the eastern Italian Alps, the drive up one of the finest roads in the range, with the sharp pyramid of the Ra Gusela above it. They got married up there in the first light, with almost nobody else around. - [Sunrise to Sunset // Juan & Laura](https://nordicaphotography.com/lanzarote-wedding-photographer-juan-laura/): Lanzarote is a strange and beautiful place to get married. Black lava and white houses, vineyards grown in volcanic gravel, red cliffs where the Atlantic comes in hard. As a Lanzarote wedding photographer you could not ask for a better canvas, and with Juan driving, the day reached corners of the island I would not have found on my own. - [On Their Own Island // Joana & Darcio](https://nordicaphotography.com/madeira-wedding-photographer-joana-darcio/): As a Madeira wedding photographer I usually meet couples who are flying in for the first time. This was the other way round: two locals who grew up here, trusting me to plan them a day across the whole island. Sunrise on the wild eastern tip, midday in the old laurel forest, sunset high on Pico do Arieiro. It took the best conditions I have ever had here and every hour of planning I could give it. - [A Boat, a Dog, and the Rain // Simona & Marius](https://nordicaphotography.com/lago-di-braies-elopement-simona-marius/): Simona and Marius drove down from Lithuania to elope in the Dolomites, and they brought Moka, their Australian shepherd, along for the whole day. It came in two very different halves: a still, green morning on the water at Lago di Braies, and a soaking afternoon up in the mountains. Moka was there for all of it. - [Weather and All // Claudia & Deniz](https://nordicaphotography.com/azores-wedding-photographer-claudia-deniz/): That was one day on São Miguel, weather and all. If you want an Azores wedding photographer who will happily get rained on for the shot, you know where I am. There is more from these islands here: Kasia and Kostek's São Miguel elopement in black and white, and a wedding over on Terceira. - [The Whole Island in a Day // Francesca & Riccardo](https://nordicaphotography.com/lanzarote-engagement-photographer-francesca-riccardo/): Francesca wore a dress by le mariage. If you are looking for a Lanzarote engagement photographer, and you want to spend a day chasing light across lava and sand with someone who will happily throw the plan out when something better turns up, this is the day I live for. I cannot wait to get back to this island, where I photographed a Lanzarote wedding not long ago and am already looking for the next reason to return. Come and do it with me. - [Sunrise at Tre Cime // Lottie & Jack](https://nordicaphotography.com/tre-cime-di-lavaredo-elopement-lottie-jack/): Lottie and Jack wanted to elope the hard way, on foot and before sunrise. So the three of us met in the dark, walked up into the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and had the three most famous peaks in the Alps almost to ourselves as the sun came up. They could have stayed there all day. Instead, once the light went flat, we drove on across the mountains for a second act at sunset. - [Sunrise to the Lighthouse // Silvia & Florin](https://nordicaphotography.com/madeira-engagement-photographer-silvia-florin/): Silvia and Florin asked for one long day on Madeira, start to finish, and they were happy to be up in the dark to get it. So it ran the way the best days here tend to: a clifftop at first light, then west across the island through laurel forest and down a cliff face in a cable car, and out to the lighthouse at the far tip for the last of the sun. - [Cabin Elopement in Sweden // Sara & Martin](https://nordicaphotography.com/cabin-elopement-sweden-sara-martin/): So instead of talking about it, we photographed it. One day with Sara and Martin and a dream team of Swedish vendors, from a morning at the cabin to a sea that was still gold at ten in the evening. This is what a cabin elopement in Scandinavia can look like when the whole place is yours. - [Sunrise in Lisbon // Ana & David](https://nordicaphotography.com/lisbon-elopement-ana-david/): There is about an hour, just before sunrise, when Lisbon belongs to whoever is standing in it. The trams are still parked, the miradouros are empty, and down on the Tejo the 25 de Abril bridge hangs over water so still it looks painted. Ana and David spent that hour in a wedding dress and a navy suit. I spent it a few steps behind them. - [A Wedding Before Dawn // Charlotte & Collin](https://nordicaphotography.com/tre-cime-di-lavaredo-wedding-charlotte-collin/): Charlotte and Collin got married in front of something far older and far bigger than a wedding. Tre Cime di Lavaredo is three walls of rock two and a half thousand metres high, up there long before anyone thought to hold a ceremony beneath them. The two of them climbed up in the dark and made their promises anyway. That is the pull of a mountain wedding: standing in front of something that size, the day feels as big as it really is. - [Sunrise in Copenhagen // Irene & Jan](https://nordicaphotography.com/copenhagen-elopement-irene-jan/): Irene and Jan were driving home to Italy from Norway when they stopped in Copenhagen. Their ride deserves its own paragraph, and it gets one below. The alarm went off before four, and by the time the sky started to burn we were standing on a jetty at the edge of the city. - [Above the Clouds // Justine & Jack](https://nordicaphotography.com/pico-do-arieiro-elopement-justine-jack/): Justine and Jack wanted one day that felt like the whole of Madeira, so we started at the top of the island in the dark. - [Sunrise in the Dolomites // Elisa & Hector](https://nordicaphotography.com/dolomites-engagement-elisa-hector/): Elisa is Italian, Hector is Mexican, and they wanted the Dolomites to themselves before the day began. - [How to Shoot at Muralla Roja](https://nordicaphotography.com/muralla-roja-photoshoot-guide/): Bofill’s pink labyrinth in Calpe is private, permitted, and completely worth it. How couples actually arrange a photoshoot at La Muralla Roja. - [Azores Elopement // Kasia & Kostek](https://nordicaphotography.com/azores-elopement-kasia-kostek/): Kasia and Kostek eloped on São Miguel in the Azores: ridgelines, cedar forests, fern ravines and the Atlantic, photographed entirely in black and white. - [Rome Engagement Session // Rozina & Salvatore](https://nordicaphotography.com/rome-engagement-rozina-salvatore/): Rozina and Salvatore are getting married, and before the wedding they wanted Rome. We met at sunrise, when the centre is empty and you can hear the Trevi Fountain from a street away. - [Iceland Elopement // Lindsey & Daniel](https://nordicaphotography.com/iceland-elopement-lindsey-daniel/): A rain-soaked ceremony at Þórufoss, horses at Indjánahöfði, a black church, sea cliffs, and the Blue Lagoon to finish. Lindsey and Daniel’s Iceland elopement, start to end. - [A Day Across Copenhagen // Caroline & Rasmus](https://nordicaphotography.com/copenhagen-engagement-photographer-caroline-rasmus/): Caroline and Rasmus took me around Copenhagen for a day, and it turned into a tour of the city's best corners. Nyhavn and its painted houses, the old cobbled streets, the museums with their coloured walls, the sharp modern architecture down on the harbour. Copenhagen packs a lot of very different backdrops into a small, walkable city, which makes it one of the best places I know for a couple to spend a day in front of a camera. - [South Iceland Elopement // Sophia & Tanveer](https://nordicaphotography.com/south-iceland-elopement-sophia-tanveer/): Sophia and Tanveer's breathtaking South Iceland elopement adventure, from their sunrise ceremony on Reynisfjara's Black Sand Beach to stunning portraits at Skógafoss, Dyrhólaey, and Stokksnes. - [Dolomites Elopement // Danielle & Zach](https://nordicaphotography.com/dolomites-elopement-danielle-zach/): Explore the serene Dolomites elopement of Danielle and Zach, a celebration of nature's beauty. Discover the allure of intimate mountain vows. - [Madeira Elopement // Styrmir & Heiðdís](https://nordicaphotography.com/madeira-elopement-styrmir-heiddis/): Styrmir and Heiðdís beautiful Madeira elopement session. From sunrises in Miradouro do Guindaste to sunsets in Miradouro Farol da Ponta do Pargo, the day was pure magic. - [Lofoten Elopement // Christina & Freddie](https://nordicaphotography.com/lofoten-elopement-christina-amp-freddie/): Christina and Freddie incredible Lofoten elopement, including an epic hike to the top of Volandstind and portraits on the golden sands of Ramberg beach. - [Lago di Braies Wedding // Alissa & Alexej](https://nordicaphotography.com/lago-di-braies-wedding-alissa-alexej/): Alissa and Alexej dream Lago di Braies wedding session. This Dolomites elopement concluded with sunset at the iconic Santa Maddalena. - [Hótel Búðir Wedding // Bree & Mike](https://nordicaphotography.com/hotel-budir-wedding-bree-mike/): Bree and Mike's Hótel Búðir wedding was a wild adventure with locations visited including Snæfellsjökull, Skarðsvík, Hellnar, Songhellir, and Arnarstapi. - [Fjord Wedding // Christine & Josh](https://nordicaphotography.com/fjord-wedding-christine-josh/): Experience Christine and Josh's destination wedding at 292 Aurland, near Flåm in the Norwegian fjords. Embrace the winter scenery and fjord views, and their beautiful celebration in this mountainous paradise. - [Dolomites Elopement Photographer // Anna & Andrea](https://nordicaphotography.com/dolomites-elopement-photographer-anna-andrea/): Anna and Andrea story from the Dolomites. Check out their winter sunrise at Tre Cime, magical midday portraits at Lago di Limides, and chilly sunset at Giau Pass. - [Mallorca Wedding Photographer // Laura & Mattia](https://nordicaphotography.com/mallorca-wedding-photographer-laura-mattia/): Laura and Mattia's intimate destination elopement in Mallorca's majestic mountains. With wild sunrises and epic sunsets, it epitomises why this stunning island draws couples planning a memorable wedding or elopement. - [Madeira Wedding Photographer // Klara and Siddy](https://nordicaphotography.com/madeira-wedding-photographer-klara-and-siddy/): Klara and Siddy chose to have an adventure elopement, and adventure they certainly got! We ventured to the whimsical ancient laurel forest of Fanal. From there, we gathered the courage to table the cable car to the iconic Achadas da Cruz village, accessible only by cable car (the steepest in Europe!). Finally, we concluded the day by driving the iconic mountain passage Pico do Areeiro back to Funchal. - [Terceira Island Wedding Photographer // Tawnie & Justin](https://nordicaphotography.com/terceira-island-wedding-photographer-tawnie-justin/): Tawnie and Justin chose to elopement on Terceira Island, a tiny island in Portugal's Azores archipelago. The day started in the main town, Angra do Heroísmo, and the adventure around the island continued from there. From exploring the caves of Algar do Carvão through to a sunset vow reading at Miradouro da Serra do Cume, the day was magic at every turn. - [Dolomites Elopement // Chiara & Pietro](https://nordicaphotography.com/dolomites-elopement-chiara-pietro/): Stunning story from the mountains! View Chiara and Pietro's Dolomites elopement story from Tre Cime and Passo di Giau. - [Madeira Wedding Photographer // Faye & Laurie](https://nordicaphotography.com/madeira-wedding-photographer-faye-laurie/): Experience the untamed allure of Madeira as Faye and Laurie embark on a wild elopement session on this extraordinary Atlantic island. Delve into the wonders of nature, where untamed beauty and boundless romance intertwine, creating an unforgettable journey through the heart of Madeira. - [Dolomites Wedding Photographer // Moa & Peter](https://nordicaphotography.com/dolomites-wedding-photographer-moa-peter/): Experience Moa and Peter's breathtaking elopement session in the stunning Dolomites. An additional highlight from this session is a film showcasing the brand new Fujifilm X-T5 camera, adding an extra touch of magic to their unforgettable moments. - [Copenhagen Elopement // Suzan & Jacob](https://nordicaphotography.com/copenhagen-elopement-suzan-jacob/): Suzan and Jacob's Copenhagen elopement session around the historic canals of Nyhavn. - [Lofoten Wedding Photographer // Siri & Seb](https://nordicaphotography.com/lofoten-wedding-photographer-siri-seb/): Lofoten is magical as it is. What made this wedding even more magical is Siri and Sebastian are from there. This is the story of an authentic Lofoten wedding at Nusfjord Arctic Resort. - [Akureyri Wedding Photographer // Amanda & Björn](https://nordicaphotography.com/akureyri-wedding-amanda-bjorn/): The allure of a destination wedding is the opportunity to discover a new location together. Björn’s hometown is Akureyri, Iceland which is Iceland’s “second city”. Amanda’s family traveled from the States for the destination wedding in Akureyri. - [Dolomites Wedding Photographer // Dawn & Rob](https://nordicaphotography.com/dolomites-wedding-photographer-dawn-rob/): Dawn and Rob's story in this stunning region was a dream come true. The couple chose the picturesque landscape of the Dolomites as the backdrop for their intimate ceremony, and the nature didn't disappoint. - [Iceland Wedding Photography // Tracy & Yam](https://nordicaphotography.com/iceland-wedding-photography-hotel-budir/): Tracy and Yam’s elopement was at one of our favourite venues ever: Hótel Búðir. Since we first started going there in 2011, we’ve come to love being amongst their staff and just the general ambiance of this incredible place. - [ICEHOTEL Wedding // Yining & Aloysius](https://nordicaphotography.com/icehotel-wedding/): ICEHOTEL wedding photographed near Kiruna, Sweden in Jukkusjarvi using the Fujifilm GFX100 with the new Fujinon GF 45-100mm f/4. - [Bröllopsfotograf Gävle // Mikaela & Patrick](https://nordicaphotography.com/brollopsfotograf-gavle-mikaela-patrick/): We've joked for years that Cole would never photograph a wedding at home in Gävle. Thankfully, when Mikala and Patrick Googled Bröllopsfotograf Gävle, found our website and reached out, the jinx was over. We finally had a local wedding in Gävle. - [Puglia Wedding Photographer // Faye & Laurie](https://nordicaphotography.com/puglia-wedding-photographer-faye-laurie/): Faye and Laurie’s Italian fairytale at Tenuta Tresca in Puglia. - [Snaefellsnes Elopement // Mallory & Felix](https://nordicaphotography.com/snaefellsnes-elopement-mallory-felix/): Mallory and Felix's Snaefellsnes Elopement had everything. With the magic of Snæfellsjökull in the background for the entire day, we explored all the areas around this rugged peninsula in west Iceland. - [Bodega Ridge Wedding // Anna & Wade](https://nordicaphotography.com/bodega-ridge-wedding/): Anna and Wade's beautiful summer Bodega Ridge wedding. Photography by with Geoff Lister as the second shooter on Galiano Island. - [Bröllopsfotograf Norrland // Emma & Elias](https://nordicaphotography.com/brollopsfotograf-norrland-emma-elias/): We knew that Emma and Elias' wedding would be amazing - we cannot get enough of photographing weddings in northern Sweden - and their story was just that. - [Thingvellir Wedding // Matt & Matt](https://nordicaphotography.com/thingvellir-wedding-matt-matt/): Stunning Thingvellir wedding at Ion Adventure Hotel and Úlfljótsvatnskirkja and planned by local wedding experts Pink Iceland. - [Juvet Landscape Hotel Wedding // Justyna & Jarrod](https://nordicaphotography.com/juvet-landscape-hotel-wedding-justyna-jarrod/): Full transparency. When Justyna and Jarrod inquired about their Juvet Landscape hotel wedding, we didn’t fully know what a gem Juvet really was. - [Norway Destination Wedding // Nicola & Cato](https://nordicaphotography.com/norway-destination-wedding-nicola-cato/): Nicola and Cato travelled from Australia for a Norway destination wedding at Noreheim in Norefjell, a mountaintop venue roughly two hours northwest of Oslo. The choice to bring family and friends from the other side of the world to a mountain lodge in Norway told you exactly what this couple valued: landscape, intimacy, and a celebration that felt connected to Cato's Norwegian roots. The venue sits at elevation with panoramic views across the Norefjell mountain range, and on a clear day the sight lines stretch for miles in every direction. - [Lake Como Wedding Photographer // Jenny & Oscar](https://nordicaphotography.com/lake-como-wedding-photographer-jenny-oscar/): Villa Lario is a boutique property with gardens that step down to the lake's edge. The ceremony took place outdoors with the lake and the mountains of the eastern shore visible behind the couple. The gardens are mature and well maintained, with stone pathways, old trees, and terraced areas that provide natural variety for portraits without ever leaving the property. As a Lake Como wedding photographer, the challenge is not finding beautiful locations but choosing between them. Villa Lario solved that problem by containing so many different settings within a single, cohesive space. - [Iceland Wedding // Alicja & Arnþór](https://nordicaphotography.com/iceland-wedding-alicja-arnthor/): Alicja and Arnþór's Iceland wedding took place at Hotel Hellnar on the Snæfellsnes peninsula, one of the most atmospheric locations in western Iceland. The hotel sits at the foot of Snæfellsjökull glacier, overlooking the North Atlantic, and the surrounding coastline is defined by lava formations, sea stacks, and the constant movement of the ocean. For a destination wedding in Iceland, Snæfellsnes offers a landscape that combines the dramatic geology of the country with a sense of remoteness that is increasingly rare on the more popular south coast. - [Ireland Wedding Photographer // Anita & Martin](https://nordicaphotography.com/ireland-wedding-photographer-anita-martin/): Kerry is known as one of the most beautiful counties in Ireland, and the coastline around Fenit demonstrates why. The village sits on a spit of land that reaches into Tralee Bay, with a harbour, a lighthouse accessible by causeway, and views that change constantly with the weather. The light in western Ireland moves quickly, and on a single day the sky can shift from bright sun to moody cloud to golden warmth in the space of an hour. As an Ireland wedding photographer, this unpredictability is part of what makes the country so rewarding to work in. Every image is shaped by the moment, and the landscape never looks the same twice. - [Nelson Wedding Photographer // Indigo & Kurt](https://nordicaphotography.com/nelson-wedding-photographer-indigo-kurt/): The ceremony took place in native bush, surrounded by the dense green canopy that defines the Nelson region. New Zealand's native forests have a quality that is unlike anything in the Northern Hemisphere: the ferns, the moss, the filtered light through the canopy all create an atmosphere that feels ancient and quiet. Indigo and Kurt exchanged vows in this setting with close friends and family, and the intimacy of the forest matched the warmth of the celebration. As a Nelson wedding photographer for this day, the forest provided a natural ceremony space that needed nothing added to it. - [Lofoten Elopement // Ashlie & Brian](https://nordicaphotography.com/lofoten-elopement-ashlie-brian/): Ashlie and Brian's Lofoten elopement took us through some of the most striking landscapes in northern Norway, from the fishing village of Reine to the beaches and mountain roads around Leknes. Lofoten has become one of our most-requested elopement destinations, and every time we return the islands reveal something new. The combination of dramatic peaks rising from the sea, sheltered bays, and the ever-changing Arctic light makes Lofoten one of the most visually rich locations we photograph in. - [Cinque Terre Wedding Photographer // Gaby & Matt](https://nordicaphotography.com/cinque-terre-wedding-photographer-gaby-matt/): The Church of San Pietro sits at the very tip of Porto Venere, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The building dates back to the 13th century, and the black-and-white striped marble facade is a landmark visible from the harbour and the coastal path. The ceremony space inside is intimate, and the views from the terrace outside are extraordinary: the Ligurian Sea stretches south toward the islands of Palmaria and Tino, and the coloured houses of Porto Venere cascade down the hillside behind. As a Cinque Terre wedding photographer, this is one of the most powerful ceremony locations on the Italian coast. - [Mallorca Wedding Photographer // Helin & Martin](https://nordicaphotography.com/mallorca-wedding-photographer-helin-martin/): Son Marroig is a former residence of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, who fell in love with Mallorca's Tramuntana coast in the 19th century. The estate retains the character of that era: stone terraces, Mediterranean gardens, and interiors filled with period furniture and local art. For a wedding, the property offers several distinct spaces. The ceremony terrace with its iconic temple and sea views is the centrepiece, but the gardens, the courtyard, and the interior rooms all provide settings that photograph beautifully. As a Mallorca wedding photographer at Son Marroig, the challenge is not finding beauty but managing the abundance of it. - [Salina Wedding Photographer // Sarah & Neil](https://nordicaphotography.com/salina-wedding-photographer-sarah-neil/): As a Salina wedding photographer, the island's compact size works in your favour. The harbour, the hillside villages, and the coastal paths are all accessible within minutes, and the light over the water changes constantly throughout the day. Sarah and Neil's celebration made use of the outdoor spaces and the views across to Lipari and Panarea, and the warmth of the island community added a generosity to the day that felt genuinely Italian. - [Bröllopsfotograf Stockholm // Sheena & Daniel](https://nordicaphotography.com/brollopsfotograf-stockholm-sheena-daniel/): Weddings in Sweden are seldom for us, let alone at home in Stockholm, so this bröllopsfotograf Stockholm story is one we loved. - [Iceland Wedding Photographer // Hallie & Halden](https://nordicaphotography.com/iceland-wedding-photographer-hallie-halden/): Hallie and Halden's Iceland wedding brought us back to one of our favourite locations in the country: Hótel Búðir on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. We have photographed at Búðir multiple times now, and each visit reminds us why the venue continues to draw couples from around the world. The hotel sits on the edge of a lava field facing the Atlantic, with the black church of Búðakirkja standing alone against the coastal landscape. For an Iceland wedding photographer, few locations combine ceremony, reception, and portrait opportunities as seamlessly as this one. - [Destination Wedding Photographer 2017 in Review // Nordica Photography](https://nordicaphotography.com/brollopsfotografer-nordica-photography/): The year took us across multiple countries and landscapes. From the volcanic coastlines of Iceland to the olive groves of southern Italy, from the fjords of Norway to the forests of New Zealand, each wedding brought its own atmosphere and its own demands. As destination wedding photographers, the variety is what keeps the work fresh and the creative energy high. No two locations photograph the same way, and no two couples bring the same energy. 2017 reinforced that the best work comes from genuine connection with both the people and the places. - [Marrakesh Wedding Photographer // Neda & Jonny](https://nordicaphotography.com/marrakesh-wedding-photographer-neda-jonny/): Marrakesh is a city of contrasts. The medina is dense, loud, and intoxicating, with narrow alleys opening suddenly into courtyard riads that feel like private oases. The wedding preparations took place in one of these traditional riads, where the tiled courtyards, carved plasterwork, and the sound of water from the central fountain created a sense of calm amidst the energy of the city. As a Marrakesh wedding photographer, the transition between the intimate riad interiors and the bustling streets outside provided extraordinary visual variety within a very small area. - [Fujifilm GFX for Weddings](https://nordicaphotography.com/fujifilm-gfx-for-weddings/): In 2016 we became X-Photographers with Fujifilm, and since then the partnership has shaped how we approach our work. When Fujifilm introduced the GFX medium format system, we were among the first wedding photographers to take it into the field. The question we kept hearing was whether a medium format camera could handle the demands of a wedding day, and after years of shooting with the GFX system our answer is unequivocal: yes, and the results are worth it. - [Gastown Wedding // Kara & Justin](https://nordicaphotography.com/gastown-wedding-kara-justin/): Kara and Justin's Gastown wedding in Vancouver was a celebration that captured the energy and character of one of the city's most historic neighbourhoods. Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver, with cobblestone streets, Victorian architecture, exposed brick interiors, and a creative community that gives the area a distinct personality. For a wedding, Gastown provides an urban backdrop with genuine texture and warmth, and Kara and Justin used it to its full potential. - [Redwood Wedding Photographer // Betty & Jonathan](https://nordicaphotography.com/redwood-wedding-photographer-betty-jonathan/): The ceremony was held in a clearing surrounded by old-growth redwoods. The trees towered above the guests, and the scale of the setting gave the celebration a gravity that was immediately felt. Betty and Jonathan chose this location because it reflected their values: simplicity, nature, and a reverence for the environment. The ceremony needed no decoration beyond what the forest provided. As a redwood wedding photographer, the challenge is capturing the scale of the trees while keeping the couple as the emotional centre of the image. Wide compositions convey the environment, but the moments that matter most are often intimate and close. - [Dalarna Wedding Photographer // Ellinor & Lars](https://nordicaphotography.com/dalarna-wedding-photographer-ellinor-lars/): As a Dalarna wedding photographer, the region offers a visual richness that is different from Stockholm or the coast. The red-painted timber buildings, the birch-lined roads, and the reflections on Lake Siljan provide a colour palette that is warm and distinctly Nordic. The traditions that Dalarna is known for add layers of meaning to a wedding celebration, and couples who choose this region tend to value authenticity and heritage. - [Oslo Wedding Photographer // Lisa & Max](https://nordicaphotography.com/oslo-wedding-photographer-lisa-max/): Oslo has transformed dramatically in recent years, with new waterfront developments, the striking Oslo Opera House, and the Barcode district adding contemporary architecture to the city's skyline. For wedding photography, this mix of old and new provides excellent variety. The Aker Brygge waterfront, the fortress at Akershus, and the tree-lined streets of Frogner all offer distinct settings within a compact, walkable area. As an Oslo wedding photographer, the city rewards those who know where to look: the quiet courtyards, the harbour views, and the parks that open up unexpectedly between buildings all provide intimate settings that feel private despite being in the heart of a capital city. - [Sweden Wedding Photographer // Anna & Martin](https://nordicaphotography.com/sweden-wedding-photographer-anna-martin/): As a Sweden wedding photographer, we bring an intimate knowledge of the country's best locations, the rhythms of its seasons, and the cultural details that make Swedish weddings unique. From the archipelago islands to the forests of the interior, from the coastal towns to the mountain regions, Sweden offers extraordinary variety for wedding photography. Anna and Martin's celebration was a beautiful example of what happens when a couple embraces their surroundings and lets the place shape the day. - [Aeolian Islands Wedding Photographer // Olivia & Rocco](https://nordicaphotography.com/aeolian-islands-wedding-photographer-olivia-rocco/): The Aeolian Islands rise from the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily, a volcanic archipelago where rugged cliffs meet turquoise water and whitewashed villages cling to hillsides above the Mediterranean. Lipari, the largest of the seven islands, offers a wedding setting unlike anything on the Italian mainland. Narrow streets wind through a historic centro storico, bougainvillea spills over stone walls, and the light shifts from golden to copper as the sun drops behind Vulcano. For Olivia and Rocco, this was the only place that made sense for their elopement. - [Lofoten Wedding Photographer // Kelsey & Daniel](https://nordicaphotography.com/lofoten-wedding-photographer-kelsey-daniel/): The Lofoten Islands sit above the Arctic Circle off the northwest coast of Norway, a chain of mountains rising sharply from the Norwegian Sea. Fishing villages with red and yellow wooden cabins line the shores beneath peaks that seem too dramatic to be real. The light in Lofoten is unlike anywhere else in Scandinavia. In summer, the midnight sun paints the landscape in a continuous golden hour that stretches through the night. In autumn and winter, the low Arctic light creates colours that shift from deep blue to violet to amber across a single afternoon. For Kelsey and Daniel, Lofoten was the destination that matched the scale of what they wanted their elopement to feel like. - [Nordica 2016 in Review](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica-2016-in-review/): A lot can happen in a year. 2016 surely proved that on a macro level, and things we're pretty hectic in our little world too. - [Tuscany Wedding Photographer // Emily & Todd](https://nordicaphotography.com/tuscany-wedding-photographer-emily-todd/): “We are down to earth people who find simplicity very elegant.”  - Emily & Todd - [Lombardy Wedding Photographer // Michelle & Pietro](https://nordicaphotography.com/lombardy-wedding-photographer-michelle-pietro/): Pietro was completely filled with pride about his home country during this entire weekend. You could see it in his face, and being able to bring so many international guests in Italy was a big honour for his entire family. - [Iceland Elopement // Steph & Eric](https://nordicaphotography.com/iceland-elopement-steph-eric/): Steph and Eric flew in from Chicago for their Iceland elopement, and had a very open mind about things. Hike that cliff, yep. Pet that horse, sure. Get blasted by wind, no problem. Walk up the hill of snow, absolutely. The plan was never to stay out as late as we did, but the sun refused to set. So the adventure went on and on, until next thing we knew, Steph and Eric were running on a beach at midnight with the sky ablaze in a fiery red. - [Chateau de Lartigolle Wedding](https://nordicaphotography.com/chateau-de-lartigolle-wedding/): In the countryside close to Auch, a small city in central France, you'll find Chateau de Lartigolle. This beautiful old castle is the place where Sophie and Kym asked their friends and families to gather at, and join them for the a celebration of love. It was a relaxed day with the perfect combination of smiles and tears. - [Seychelles Wedding Photography](https://nordicaphotography.com/seychelles-wedding-photography/): An elopement in paradise. Jakob and Cole met and connected at business school over spreadsheets and strong beer, but not photography. The friends both graduated and Cole moved back to Vancouver, Canada. - [Seeing the world, telling stories, and making people happy.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/seeing-the-world-telling-stories-and-making-people-happy/): Just like good business people, they built a case for what to do with their lives, boiling it down to: Seeing the world, telling stories, and making people happy. And so, Nordica Photography was born. - [Honing the craft.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/honing-the-craft/): Cole and Jakob were fully committed and full-time from day one. It was ‘learn as much as they can’, anywhere anytime. The Winter Olympics, headshots, products, fashion, weddings – point, shoot and discover – it was all about honing the craft. No gig was too small. No hand was left unshook. - [Momentum.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/momentum/): The momentum started to build with Nordica’s first destination wedding in Mexico. It was quickly followed by going to Iceland, twice. The contrast, adventure and satisfaction with visually telling those stories made it abundantly clear this was exactly what Cole and Jakob had been hoping for. - [The adventure continues.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/the-adventure-continues/): More adventures, and more stories. Jakob lived out of a suitcase all over Europe and Africa, capturing weddings and immersing himself in the different locales, to weave distinctive narratives for each couple. With 50% of the weddings being destination shoots, Jakob moved back to Sweden to make the traveling more manageable. - [The return to Sweden.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/the-return-to-sweden/): Jakob and Cole began receiving invitations to speak at photographer conferences. The talks remain great ways to connect with other professionals and share better techniques to get the story right. At this point, 75% of the weddings were destination shoots. Cole decided to make Sweden his home base as well. - [Settled but not stationary.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/settled-but-not-stationary/): The pair settled into Scandinavian life, Jakob in Stockholm and Cole a couple of hours north of there in Gävle, enjoying time with their families when not on the go. - [Adding new focus.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/adding-new-focus/): Cole and Jakob founded ‘Way Up North’, the first wedding photography conference in Northern Europe, putting together a stellar line-up of internationally renowned wedding shooters. The overwhelming success of the conference encouraged Jakob and Cole to organize the second Way Up North in the eternal city, Rome, and third again in Stockholm in 2016. - [Fujifilm X-Photographers.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/fuji-x-photographers/): In 2016, Nordica started a cooperation with Fujifilm and were announced one of few official Fujifilm X-Photographers in Scandinavia. An honour for Jakob and Cole to be working with one of the biggest and most well-known photography brands in the world. ## Slideshows
