After that we tried for the cable car at Achadas da Cruz, but the queue was long and the light was not waiting, so we let it go and carried on: the Miradouro da Boa Morte, the lighthouse at Ponta do Pargo, and the end of the day down at Ponta do Sol. The photographs run in the order the day did.

As a Lake Como wedding photographer, the challenge is not finding beautiful locations but choosing between them. Villa Lario solved that problem by containing so many different settings within a single, cohesive space.

The choice to bring family and friends from the other side of the world to a mountain lodge in Norway told you exactly what this couple valued: landscape, intimacy, and a celebration that felt connected to Cato's Norwegian roots. The venue sits at elevation with panoramic views across the Norefjell mountain range, and on a clear day the sight lines stretch for miles in every direction.

The hotel sits at the foot of Snæfellsjökull glacier, overlooking the North Atlantic, and the surrounding coastline is defined by lava formations, sea stacks, and the constant movement of the ocean. For a destination wedding in Iceland, Snæfellsnes offers a landscape that combines the dramatic geology of the country with a sense of remoteness that is increasingly rare on the more popular south coast.

The village sits on a spit of land that reaches into Tralee Bay, with a harbour, a lighthouse accessible by causeway, and views that change constantly with the weather. The light in western Ireland moves quickly, and on a single day the sky can shift from bright sun to moody cloud to golden warmth in the space of an hour. As an Ireland wedding photographer, this unpredictability is part of what makes the country so rewarding to work in. Every image is shaped by the moment, and the landscape never looks the same twice.
- [Nelson Wedding Photographer // Indigo & Kurt](https://nordicaphotography.com/nelson-wedding-photographer-indigo-kurt/): The ceremony took place in native bush, surrounded by the dense green canopy that defines the Nelson region. New Zealand's native forests have a quality that is unlike anything in the Northern Hemisphere: the ferns, the moss, the filtered light through the canopy all create an atmosphere that feels ancient and quiet. Indigo and Kurt exchanged vows in this setting with close friends and family, and the intimacy of the forest matched the warmth of the celebration. As a Nelson wedding photographer for this day, the forest provided a natural ceremony space that needed nothing added to it.
- [Lofoten Elopement // Ashlie & Brian](https://nordicaphotography.com/lofoten-elopement-ashlie-brian/): Ashlie and Brian's Lofoten elopement took us through some of the most striking landscapes in northern Norway, from the fishing village of Reine to the beaches and mountain roads around Leknes. Lofoten has become one of our most-requested elopement destinations, and every time we return the islands reveal something new. The combination of dramatic peaks rising from the sea, sheltered bays, and the ever-changing Arctic light makes Lofoten one of the most visually rich locations we photograph in.
- [Cinque Terre Wedding Photographer // Gaby & Matt](https://nordicaphotography.com/cinque-terre-wedding-photographer-gaby-matt/): The Church of San Pietro sits at the very tip of Porto Venere, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The building dates back to the 13th century, and the black-and-white striped marble facade is a landmark visible from the harbour and the coastal path. The ceremony space inside is intimate, and the views from the terrace outside are extraordinary: the Ligurian Sea stretches south toward the islands of Palmaria and Tino, and the coloured houses of Porto Venere cascade down the hillside behind. As a Cinque Terre wedding photographer, this is one of the most powerful ceremony locations on the Italian coast.
- [Mallorca Wedding Photographer // Helin & Martin](https://nordicaphotography.com/mallorca-wedding-photographer-helin-martin/): Son Marroig is a former residence of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, who fell in love with Mallorca's Tramuntana coast in the 19th century. The estate retains the character of that era: stone terraces, Mediterranean gardens, and interiors filled with period furniture and local art. For a wedding, the property offers several distinct spaces. The ceremony terrace with its iconic temple and sea views is the centrepiece, but the gardens, the courtyard, and the interior rooms all provide settings that photograph beautifully. As a Mallorca wedding photographer at Son Marroig, the challenge is not finding beauty but managing the abundance of it.

## Nordica Story
- [Sweden.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/sweden/): In the beginning, there was Sweden. Jakob and Cole met and connected at business school over spreadsheets and strong beer, but not photography. The friends both graduated and Cole moved back to Vancouver, Canada.

And so, Nordica Photography was born.

The talks remain great ways to connect with other professionals and share better techniques to get the story right. At this point, 75% of the weddings were destination shoots. Cole decided to make Sweden his home base as well.

- [Adding new focus.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/adding-new-focus/): Cole and Jakob founded ‘Way Up North’, the first wedding photography conference in Northern Europe, putting together a stellar line-up of internationally renowned wedding shooters. The overwhelming success of the conference encouraged Jakob and Cole to organize the second Way Up North in the eternal city, Rome, and third again in Stockholm in 2016.
- [Fujifilm X-Photographers.](https://nordicaphotography.com/nordica_story/fuji-x-photographers/): In 2016, Nordica started a cooperation with Fujifilm and were announced one of few official Fujifilm X-Photographers in Scandinavia. An honour for Jakob and Cole to be working with one of the biggest and most well-known photography brands in the world.
