A fantastic barn and a circle of awesome friends. This wedding from Westham Island, just outside Vancouver, is one of our favourite locations to shoot at in British Columbia.

Document You // Katie & Andy
During Document You sessions, good things happen when we get invited into the lives of couples, and share a story of what it is they do.
Katie and Andy have a son and spending time outdoors with him on Katie's parents farm is an awesome day in their world. Add walking their dog along the nearby dyke into the mix, and bam - this is their family in its essence. So photographing them at the farm on Westham Island, which is also where they will get married later this year, is as real as it gets.

Couple's often ask us about general ideas and thoughts for their weddings. And our answer is pretty much always the same. We're definitely no experts on weddings per se, but we've been to a few by now, and there's one thing we've picked up on: The more real you keep it, the better.
Don't put in a big effort just to be someone you're not for a day.

Fraser River Lodge Wedding // Mandy & Bobby
Bobby and Mandy had their wedding at the Fraser River Lodge in Chilliwack, and while it wasn't in a barn (we're big barn wedding fans), it was outdoors and smothered by gargantuous mountains, rivers and corn fields. Not bad.
Then they took off to Hawaii and we went back into our editing caves.
