Caroline and Rasmus took me around Copenhagen for a day, and it turned into a tour of the city’s best corners. Nyhavn and its painted houses, the old cobbled streets, the museums with their coloured walls, the sharp modern architecture down on the harbour. Copenhagen packs a lot of very different backdrops into a small, walkable city, which makes it one of the best places I know for a couple to spend a day in front of a camera.

I am based in Sweden, a forty-five minute flight away, and Copenhagen is a city I want to work in far more. Engagement sessions, weddings, even portrait sessions, I am a short hop over the water and always glad of a reason to come. If you are getting married or making plans here, get in touch.

The day ran from the water to the galleries and back. Nyhavn first, the postcard row of red and yellow and blue houses along the canal. Then the quiet cobbled streets behind it, all bicycles and painted doors. Indoors to the museums Copenhagen does so well, the coloured walls of Thorvaldsens and rooms full of old marble. And down on the harbour, the hard black glass of the modern library on the water. One small city, a dozen different worlds.
