MALLORCA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHEREmma & Robin

February 15, 2025

Emma and Robin got married on Mallorca, inland from the coast, on a day that ran from a quiet finca morning to a party under string lights.

Mallorca is better known for its beaches than its weddings, which is a shame, because the middle of the island is old stone farmhouses, fields that go gold in the evening, and light that holds long after dinner. Emma and Robin’s day used all of it.

Shooting as a Mallorca wedding photographer, the thing you plan around here is that evening light, building the day so the portraits land when the fields turn colour. The rest is just showing up early and staying late.

A finca inland

The island’s southeast coast has Es Pontàs, the stone arch standing out of the sea.

But the wedding was inland, at a finca with a pool ringed by palms and a courtyard of old stone. Grand, quiet, and entirely theirs for the day.

Getting ready

The morning was the usual quiet chaos of a wedding full of people who love the couple.

Dress, shoes, the bridesmaids, and the hugs that start long before the ceremony does. Robin got ready nearby, taking his time about it.

The two of them

Before the ceremony, Emma and Robin took ten minutes for themselves.

A first look in the courtyard, then a walk into the trees and down toward the water while the guests were still finding their seats. On an island this photogenic the hard part is choosing where not to go.

The ceremony, in a field

They married outdoors, in a field, under an arch dressed with greenery.

Rows of chairs and paper parasols against the sun, the finca off in the distance, and not much between the two of them and the sky. Then the walk back up the aisle, married, into a crowd that had clearly been waiting for it.

Confetti, then dinner

The gap between the ceremony and the party is where a wedding relaxes.

Confetti, a long table laid out under greenery, and the speeches. Nobody was checking the time.

The gold hour

This is why you get married inland on Mallorca in summer.

When the sun drops, the fields turn the colour of the light and stay that way for an hour. Emma and Robin went back out into it, just the two of them, and let the day catch up with them.

String lights, and later

The reception ran long, the way the good ones do.

String lights over the pool, a dance floor that did not empty until the finca went dark, and Robin up on shoulders at least once. The last frames were made well after midnight.

If you are getting married on Mallorca and you want the whole island in it, the finca, the coast, the fields at last light, this is the day to steal from. Emma and Robin gave it room to breathe, and walked away with a wedding that looked like nowhere else.
