Vancouver Engagement Photography // Cherry & Tommy

Sometimes it feels like we’re just Forrest Gumping ourselves along.
Take Cherry and Tommy, for example.
It was absolutely awful, miserable, dark and rainy in Vancouver, but we had to do their engagement session that particular day. Even though we’re used to the weather, when you’re popped downtown Vancouver and in a situation where you have to piece together an epic engagement session, for people you don’t know…well, let’s just say it can be a bit of a challenge.
But it had to be done, so we meandered. Into buildings, train stations, stores… pretty much all over the place until we had a three-stop route picked out for Cherry and Tommy.
Spot number one: The Vancouver Convention Centre. This building is very large, has nice natural light inside, but it’s not exactly a public space. So we got yelled at and kicked out. But we got some cool pictures.
Spot number two: Waterfront Station. This time we only got yelled at a little (and mostly politely) by strangers. And we got some cool pictures.
Spot number three: A large office building with no yelling security people. It also had a piano, which we thought would have been ideal if the couple played piano. Plus there was a massive window that let in some awesome light.
Well, turns out Cherry and Tommy do play the piano. In fact, that’s how they met. They’re piano teachers.
At this final spot we never got yelled at by anyone, but we did get a wink and a nod from the building manager. He approved of our Forest Gump effort to patch together a classy engagement session in his building on a blisteringly windy Vancouver day.

Beautiful shots for Forest Gumping it together. I love the one of the motion blurred people. I've always wanted to try a shot like that.

I love the blurred photograph so much! Also the one on the balcony. Not like the 'average' photo shoots seen of couples. Some of those can be quite cheesy and fake. Great work. Oh...the name is Nordica but no relation! :)
