Marrakesh Wedding Photographer
Neda and Jonny’s destination wedding in Marrakesh brought together family and friends from around the world for a celebration that was as vibrant and layered as the city itself. Morocco had been on our list of dream wedding destinations for years, and this wedding exceeded every expectation. The colours, the sounds, the architecture, and the warmth of the Moroccan hospitality created an atmosphere that was unlike anything we had experienced in Europe.
The Medina and the Riad
Marrakesh is a city of contrasts. The medina is dense, loud, and intoxicating, with narrow alleys opening suddenly into courtyard riads that feel like private oases. The wedding preparations took place in one of these traditional riads, where the tiled courtyards, carved plasterwork, and the sound of water from the central fountain created a sense of calm amidst the energy of the city. As a Marrakesh wedding photographer, the transition between the intimate riad interiors and the bustling streets outside provided extraordinary visual variety within a very small area.
The celebration itself drew on both Moroccan and Western traditions, with moments that ranged from quiet and intimate to loud and joyful. The venue’s outdoor spaces were lit by lanterns and candles as the evening progressed, and the warm Moroccan night air gave the reception a sensory richness that extended well beyond the visual. The food, the music, and the fragrance of the gardens all contributed to a celebration that engaged every sense.
Destination Weddings in Morocco
Morocco offers a destination wedding experience that is genuinely different from the European and North American locations most couples consider. Marrakesh is the most popular choice, but the country also offers the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and the coastal cities of Essaouira and Tangier as potential settings. Flights from most European cities are short and affordable, and the infrastructure for weddings has developed significantly in recent years. For couples who want their wedding to feel like a cultural immersion rather than a standard destination event, Morocco delivers. Get in touch if you are considering a celebration in Marrakesh or elsewhere in Morocco. Browse more destination wedding photography: Mallorca, Puglia, Salina, and Ireland.
Neda and Jonny brought friends and family over from the UK, Sweden, Iran, and many other countries to celebrate their wedding over three days in Morocco. The first day was spent in the desert at Scarabeo, about an hour outside of Marrakesh, while the other two days including the wedding ceremony was held at Jnane Tamsna in Marrakesh.

The way the decorator has played with the colors and the finesse with which you have captured the work of wedding decorator are both commendable. I see that it is a night wedding and have always felt that there is something romantic about night weddings and I am glad I got to see a perfectly documented night wedding!
