STOCKHOLM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERMaria & Jesse

October 7, 2013

“About four years ago Maria sold all her furniture, packed up her CDs, and left for California. Best choice she ever made.”

That is the short version of how Maria met Jesse. She is Swedish, he is American, and they married on Fejan.

Fejan is a small island in the outer Stockholm archipelago, roughly three nautical miles east of Kapellskär, on the shipping lane that runs to Åland and Finland. You reach it by boat.

Fejan Sjökrog is an inn and guesthouse rather than a dedicated wedding venue, so the guests slept on the island. People were swimming off the jetty the afternoon before the ceremony.

Sky lanterns went up off the jetty after dark.
