Oslo Wedding Photographer
Lisa and Max’s wedding in Oslo was a celebration that combined the best of Norwegian hospitality with the architectural beauty of the Norwegian capital. Oslo sits at the head of the Oslofjord, surrounded by forested hills, and the city offers a blend of modern Scandinavian design and historic waterfront character that makes it a compelling destination for weddings.
The Norwegian Capital
Oslo has transformed dramatically in recent years, with new waterfront developments, the striking Oslo Opera House, and the Barcode district adding contemporary architecture to the city’s skyline. For wedding photography, this mix of old and new provides excellent variety. The Aker Brygge waterfront, the fortress at Akershus, and the tree-lined streets of Frogner all offer distinct settings within a compact, walkable area. As an Oslo wedding photographer, the city rewards those who know where to look: the quiet courtyards, the harbour views, and the parks that open up unexpectedly between buildings all provide intimate settings that feel private despite being in the heart of a capital city.
Lisa and Max’s celebration moved between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day, and the summer light in Oslo gave us extended golden hours for portraits along the waterfront. Norwegian summer weddings benefit from the same long northern light that defines celebrations in Sweden and Finland, and the evening never fully darkened.
Weddings in Oslo
Oslo is well connected by direct flights from most European cities, making it accessible for international guests. The city offers a range of venues from historic estates to contemporary waterfront spaces, and the surrounding fjord and forest provide natural settings within easy reach. For couples considering a destination wedding in Norway, Oslo combines urban sophistication with Scandinavian nature. Get in touch to discuss your plans. Considering we’re based in a northern country (Sweden), we don’t shoot a lot of winter weddings. We’re big fans of them though, and hopefully you’ll see more winter wonderland celebrations on our site in the future.
